삶의 德目과 人格
불만은 위만 보고 아래를 보지 못해서 생기고,
오만은 아래만 보고 위를 보지 못해서 생깁니다.
결국 비우지 못한 욕심과 낮추지 못한 교만,
그것이 우리를 흐리게 만듭니다.
지혜로운 사람은 남의 잘못보다
먼저 자신의 허물을 봅니다.
마음의 평화는 비움에서 오고,
영혼의 향기는 낮춤에서 피어납니다.
말이 번듯하다고 행동까지 바른 것은 아니고,
겉모습이 고와도 마음까지 아름답진 않습니다.
지식이 많다고 인격이 높은 것도 아니며,
부를 쌓았다고 덕까지 쌓인 것은 아닙니다.
진실한 사람은 말보다 삶으로 보여주고,
정직한 사람은 모든 순간에서 곧음이 드러납니다.
많이 가져도 인색한 사람이 있고,
적게 가져도 넉넉한 사람이 있습니다.
아는 것이 많을수록
모르는 것이 더 많다는 것을 아는 겸손,
그것이 진짜 지식의 미덕입니다.
어진 사람은 큰 나무처럼
그늘이 되어 쉬어갈 곳을 내어주고,
선한 사람은 꽃처럼
향기로 세상을 물들입니다.
하지만 거짓은 불신을 낳고,
술수는 결국 스스로를 무너뜨립니다.
가족 사랑은 인내이고,
친구 사랑은 함께해주는 것이며,
연인 사랑은 져주는 것입니다.
그리고 최고의 사랑은,
용서입니다.
