320. 하나를 얻으려면 하나를 놓아야 한다.

하나를 얻으려면 하나를 놓아야 한다는 말입니다.

하나를 쥐고 또 하나를 쥐려한다면
그 두개를 모두 잃게
된다는 말이지요.

약 1천년 전에
중국 송나라 시절
사마광이라는 사람의
어릴 적 이야기입니다.

한 아이가
커다란
장독대에 빠져 허우적거리고 있었는데,

어른들이 사다리 가져와라, 밧줄 가져와라, 요란법석을 떠는 동안,

물독에 빠진 아이는
꼬로록 숨이
넘어갈 지경이었지요.

그 때 작은 꼬마 사마광이 옆에 있던 돌맹이를 주워들고,

그 커다란 장독을 깨트려 버렸어요. 

치밀한 어른들의 잔머리로 단지값,물값 책임소재 따지며 시간 낭비하다가,

정작 사람의 생명을 잃게 하는 경우가 허다 하지요.

더 귀한 것을 얻으려면
덜 귀한 것은 버려야 하나봅니다. 

내가 살아감에 있어
정작 돌로 깨 부셔야 할 것은 무엇인가?

It often causes people to lose their lives.

I think I should throw away something less precious.
