267. 자기성찰

자기성찰(自己省察)

⓵ 말을 적게 해야 한다.
입을 다물고, 남의 말을 들어야 한다.
말을 많이 하면, 품위가 떨어지고, 체신머리가 없어진다.
입은 밥을 먹을 때에만 벌려라.

⓶ 자신이 늙었다는 사실을 인정해야 한다.
‘마음은 28청춘’이라고 몸 따로, 마음 따로 놀면 안된다.
늙은 사실을 모르고 Boxing 대회에 나가면 곧 KO된다.


⓷ 연애는 젊은 사람의 몫임을 인정해야 한다.
로미오도 애들이고,
줄리엣도 애들이다.
베스트셀러가 된 모든 애정소설의 주인공들은 20대다.
6,70대가 주인공인 영화는 서부영화 에서 총맞아 죽는 역밖에 없다.


⓸ 이기심을 버려야 한다.
나이들면, 돈밖에 모르고, 제 몸밖에 모른다.
그렇게 살다가 죽으면 욕만 먹는다.
주변 사람을 배려하고, 못사는 친척, 친구에게도 시선을 돌려야 한다.
헌혈도 너무 나이들면 받아주지도 않는다.


⓹ 세상일에 아는척 하지 말아야 한다.
몇 십년전에 배운 일, 경험한 것을 금과옥조로 삼고 떠들면 꼴통 소리를 듣는다.
컴퓨터, 인터넷 시대이고, 달나라 가는 시대다.
드론으로 정확하게 IS 요인 공격살해하는 세상이다.
늙은 사람이 정치 경제 외교 안보 군사 문화 스포츠 모든 분야에서
전문가인 것처럼 시끄럽게 떠들면,
애국하는 것이 아니라, 애곡하는 것이다.

⓺ 왕년에 잘나갔다는 이야기는 혼자 있을 때 장독 안에다 머리를 틀어 박고 하는 게 좋다.
아무도 알아주지 않는다.
배고픔을 참고 성공했다든가, 피나는 노력을 해서 서울대 갔다든가, 여자를 잘 꼬셔서 미인과 사겼다든가 하는 이야기를 수천번 반복하고 있으면, 그건 공해다.

⓻ 젊은 사람들의 두뇌와 능력을 인정하여야 한다.
우리도 옛날에 붓으로 사무보는 사람을 우습게 보고 살았다.
지금도 마찬가지다.
젊은 사람들의 지능과 정보력, 신속한 동작은 상상을 초월한다.
젊은 사람들과 경쟁 하려는 것은 사자와 맞짱 뜨자는 것과 같다.

⓼ 성관계는 아예 포기하거나 극도로 절제하여야 한다.
특히 나이든 남자가 젊은 여자와 새로운 연애를 시도하는 것은, 복상사로 행복한 죽음을 맞이 하겠다는 비장한 결의로 들린다.
젊은 여자와의 사랑을 유지 관리하는 것은, 곧 자신의 모든 것을 희생해 가면서 허망한 구름을 잡겠다는 것이다.

⓽ 마지막까지 가정을 지키고, 가장으로서 할 일을 다 해야 한다.

⓾ 안 하던 일을 새로 하지 마라.
창업을 하든가, 주식 투자를 하든가,
다단계를 하든가, 새로운 아이디어로
돈을 벌려고 하다가 얼마 남지 않은 쌈짓돈 다 날리고 쭈굴쭈굴한 거지가 되면, 아주 비참해진다.

⑪ 황혼이혼은 망하는 지름길이다.
지금까지 참고 살았으면, 앞으로 얼마 남지 않는 인생도 그대로  살아라.
조강지처 버리고 밖에 나가 방황하다가 우습게 된 노년이 한 두 사람이 아니다.

⑫ 뒤늦게 정치하지 마라.
갑자기 국회의원 출마하고, 시장 군수, 도의원 구의원 나가지 않는게 신상에 좋다.
정치는 하던 사람들이 하는 것이다.

⑬ 쓸데없는 고집을 버려라.
집안에서도 부인과 다투지 마라.
큰일에서는 다투더라도, 작은 일과 사소한 일에서 다투면 사람만 쩨쩨하다고 손가락질 받는다.

⑭ 지금까지 살면서 잘못한 일을 반성하는 기회를 가져라.
부모에게 불효한 것,
아내에게 잘못한 것,
자식들에게 제대로 못해준 것,
본인 자신에게 충실하지 못한것 등등
반성할 것이 108가지는 될 것이다.
108번뇌라는 말은 바로 꼰대들
때문에 생겨난 것이다.

⑮ 자식들에게 너무 많은 것을 기대 하지 마라.
자식들은 스무살 넘으면 알아서 사는 것이다.
부모로서 자식 걱정만 하고 있어야 아무런 도움도 되지 않는다.

⑯ 자식들에게 먼저 모든 재산을 증여해주면 안된다.
재산 다 넘겨주면 자식들로부터 구박 받는다.
그건 다 자업자득이다.
집 넘겨주고 쫓겨나서 양로원 가 있는 것은 어리석은 일이다.

⑰ 죽을 때 아무 것도 가지고 가지 못한다는 사실을 믿어라.
혹시 재산이 많으면 죽기 전에 마음껏 쓰고 죽어라.
주변 사람을 위해서도 좋은 일도 조금 하는게 좋다.
선을 베풀면, 악을 행하는 것보다 훨씬 더 행복감을 느낀다.

⑱ 자서전을 쓸 생각을 하지 않는게 좋다.
특히 대필해서 자서전 써놓아야 읽는 사람 아무도 없다.
자식들조차 읽을 시간이 없다.
자식들도 페이스북 해야 하기 때문이다.

⑲ 건강을 챙기는 것은 좋지만,
아무 일도 하지 않으면서,
오직 120세까지 사는 것을 유일한 목표로 삼고 사는 것도 곤란하다.
무엇인가 보람있는 일을 해야 한다.

⑳ 사는 동안 다른 사람들과 어울려 사는 법을 배워야 한다.
그것은 자기 자신을 낮추고 상대를 배려하며, 함께 살아가는 자세를 익히는 것이다.
잘난척하면 어디에 가도 왕따 당한다.
나이들면 우리가 생각해야 할 일은
한 두가지가 아니다.
나이 들면 어리석음에서 벗어나고, 조금이라도 지혜로워져야 한다.
