신오우가(新五友歌)」라 이름 붙여 본다.

○ 배우자(妻 또는 夫)

부부는 평생을 함께하며 노년의 외로움을 덜어주는 가장 든든한 동반자이다.
아무리 훌륭한 자식이 있어도
배우자를 대신할 수는 없다.

비록 완벽하지 않은 배우자일지라도
함께 삶을 나누는 존재는
무엇과도 바꿀 수 없는 소중한 벗이다.

옛말에
"열 효자보다 한 배우자가 낫다"는 말이 있듯이, 노년의 가장 큰 의지처는
결국 곁을 지켜주는 배우자이다.

○ 건강(健康)

건강이 없다면
그 어떤 행복도 온전히 누리기 어렵다.
자신을 조금 더 아끼고 돌보며
규칙적인 생활과 운동을 실천하자.
건강한 몸과 마음은 빛나는 인생 후반을
선물해 줄 것이다.

○ 재물(財物)

적당한 재물은 삶의 여유와 품위를 지켜준다.
재물은 많을수록 좋다고 하지만,
사실 무한한 부를 필요로 하는 사람은 드물다.
가족을 돌보고, 친구와 따뜻한 식사 한 끼를 나누며, 어려운 이웃을 도울 수 있는 정도의 여유가 있다면 이미 충분히 행복한 부자라
할 수 있다.

○ 일(事)

적당한 일거리와 소일거리는
삶의 활력을 유지하게 한다.
대부분의 사람들은 60~65세 무렵
현업에서 물러난다.
앞만 보고 달려온 세월 끝에 갑자기 멈춰 서게 되면 허전함과 당혹감을 느낄 수 있다.
그러나 그것은 끝이 아니라 새로운 시작이다.
이제는 자신을 위해 배우고, 즐기고, 도전하며 더욱 의미 있는 시간을 만들어 갈 수 있다.

○ 벗(友)

마지막 벗은 황혼길을 함께 걸어갈 친구이다.

공감할 수 있는 사람이 있다면
인생은 훨씬 풍요로워진다.
어쩌면 다섯 벗 가운데 가장 소중한 존재일지도 모른다.
평생 수많은 사람을 만나고 헤어지지만,
진정한 친구는 많지 않다.

황혼의 벗이 되기 위해서는
몇 가지 조건이 필요하다.

첫째, 서로 가까이 지낼 수 있어야 하고,
둘째, 생각과 가치관이 비슷해야 하며,
셋째, 함께 즐길 수 있는 취미가 있으면 좋고,
넷째, 서로에게 적당한 설렘과 기대를
        줄 수 있다면 더욱 좋다.

윤선도가 자연 속에서 다섯 벗을 찾았듯이, 우리도 인생 후반에 꼭 필요한 다섯 벗을
곁에 두고 살아가면 좋겠다.

배우자, 건강, 재물, 일, 그리고 벗.

이 다섯이 함께한다면
인생의 황혼도 외롭지 않고 아름다울 것이다.
