800. 네 운명은 네 손 안에 있다.

어느 산에 스님 한 분이 살았다

들리는 바로는 아직까지 한 명도
그의 말문을 막히게 한 사람이 없다고 한다.

어느 날 똑똑한 아이가 손에
작은 새 한 마리를 쥐고
스님에게 가서 물었다.

"스님 이 새가 죽은 건가요?
아니면 살아있는 건가요?"

그리고 생각했다.
"이 스님이 살았다고 하면 목졸라 죽여버리고,
죽었다고 하면 날려보내야지,
내가 드디어 이 스님을 이기는구나!"

스님이 웃으면서 말했다.
"얘야 그 새의 생사는 네 손에 달렸지
내 입에 달린 것이 아니란다."

꼬마는 새를 날려보내며 말했다.
"스님은 어떻게 이토록 지혜로우신가요?"

그러자 스님이 대답했다.
"예전에는 정말 멍청한 아이였다.
그러나 매일 열심히 공부하고 생각하다 보니
지혜가 생기기 시작하더구나.
너는 나보다 더 지혜로운 사람이 될 것 같구나."

그러나 아이는 슬픈 기색을 보이며 말했다.
"어제 어머니께서 점을 보셨는데 제 운명은 엉망이라고 했다는군요."

스님은 잠깐 동안 침묵하더니 아이의 손을 당겨 잡았다.
"얘야, 네 손금을 좀 보여주렴~"
이것은 감정선,
이것은 사업성,
이것은 생명선,
자~ 이제는 주먹을 꼭 쥐어보렴."

아이는 주먹을 꼭 쥐고 스님을 바라보았다.
"얘야, 네 감정선, 사업성, 생명선이 어디 있느냐?"

"바로 제 손안에 있지요."
"그렇지, 바로 네 운명은 네 손안에 있는 것이지
다른 사람의 입에 달린 것이 아니란다.

다른 사람으로 인해
네 운명을 포기하지 말거라."

From what I hear, not a single person is still here
It is said that no one has stopped him from speaking.

One day, a smart kid was in his hands
Hold a little bird
I went to the monk and asked.

"Is this bird dead?"
Or is it alive?"

And I thought.
"If this monk lived, he would be strangled to death,
If you say you're dead, I'll let you go,
I finally beat this monk!"

The monk said with a smile.
"Dude, the life and death of the bird is in your hands
It's not on my lips."

The little boy said, sending the bird away.
"How can you be so wise?"

Then the monk replied.
"I used to be such a stupid kid.
But since I study hard and think about it every day
You're starting to have wisdom.
I think you will be a wiser man than I am."

But the child looked sad and said.
"My mother saw a mole yesterday and she said my fate was a mess."

After a moment of silence, the monk pulled the child's hand and grabbed it.
"Hey, show me your palm."
This is the emotion line,
This is business feasibility,
This is a lifeline,
Now, make sure to squeeze your fist."

The child clenched his fist and looked at the monk.
"Dude, where is your emotional line, your business, your lifeline?"

"It's right in my hand."
"Yes, your fate is in your hands
It's not on someone else's

lips.
