사람이 살아가는 모습

예전 미국 마이애미 롱비치 법정에서
있었던 실화 한 토막을 소개합니다.

남편 없이 홀로 두 아들을 키워가면서
정성을 다해 교회를 섬기며 살아가는
중년 미국 여성분이 있었습니다.

어느 날 아들 형제가 절벽이 낀
산속에서 죽창을 던지며 전쟁놀이를
하고 있었습니다.

그때 그 지역의 유명한 인사가 말을 타고
그 곳을 산책하다가 하필 아들 형제가
던진 죽창이 말의 눈에 적중하였고,

장내가 숙연해지고, 재판정이 쥐 죽은 듯
고요속에 묻혀 있을 때  방청객들은 물론
부인의 말에 감동받은 판사가
근엄한 음성으로

"부인 지금까지 30년 넘게 재판해
오면서 오늘과 같이 인간애로
감동받기는 처음입니다."

두 아들도 또 어머니도 미국 사회를 아름답게 선도할 모범적 가족이라고 판단한 판사는
